Inside the Color-Filled London Home of Textile Designer Eva Sonaike

“My home is my sanctuary. A reflection of myself, where I feel at ease.” – Eva Sonaike

One of the first things you notice when you step into Eva Sonaike’s London home is a wooden sideboard. This piece displays various stylish decorative accessories as well as random bits and pieces of family life. The sideboard is where the story of the textile designer’s passion for interiors and investing in good design begins.

Eva bought the sideboard at age 13, saying “At a time when most young girls are getting into fashion, I was into interior design. I begged my parents to let me buy it.” The sideboard has been with her ever since, traveling from Germany, where she grew up, to this 1930s property she now shares with her husband, a barrister, and their two children.
