A Charming Easter Table

Hand-forged silver-plated teaspoons from the Sabby Garden range by Aboda, and the pastel shades of handpicked African flowers placed in a silver ZENZULU bowl bring a touch of nature to a dessert table of Easter treats by CCTreats and a sprinkling of Divine Mini Eggs.

Easter is a time for remembrance and celebration, and on Easter Sunday especially, a day for gathering family and friends around the table. Also occurring as it does during spring in the Western Hemisphere -the exchanging of eggs has become the symbol of a long-held tradition of welcoming in the new season.

Spring is a symbol of rebirth and renewal, filled with inspiring symbols. One of our favorite’s is an empty cracked eggshell, a long-held indicator of new life and anticipation in what is to come as the season moves forward eventually giving way to the full bloom of summer. And so we uphold this symbol as we prepare for the imminent launch of MOYI, an inspirational lifestyle brand and publication that not only marks a new beginning, but given its name – which translates to mean ‘sun’ – is one that will reflect the rays of creative, cultural talent that are igniting a welcome spirit of rejuvenation across the African continent and throughout the diaspora.

Lalibella pure linen woven Ruti napkins from South Africa, Gone Rural placemats handwoven in Swaziland and a tempting selection of Divine Chocolate Eggs nestling in an olive telephone wire bowl by ZENZULU, bring contemporary African charm to a table setting for four.

We have decided to adorn our table with the fresh pastel colors of the season, natural materials and tactile textures with products such as Gone Rural’s yellow border placemats and turquoise color block weave bowl all hand-woven in Swaziland and complemented with color edged natural linens from Lalibella; the hand-woven silver and olive telephone wire bowls by ZENZULU filled with eggs and pretty pastel-hued flowers, handpicked to mark the awakening of nature and echoed in the detailing of Aboda’s nature-inspired hand-forged teaspoons and Kirsten Hecktermann’s selection of wooden hand-carved spoons. And, for irresistible treats and centerpiece cakes that are sure to tempt both children and adults alike, we looked no further than London cake studio, CCTreats; and not forgetting the all important Easter eggs, a selection of melt-in-the-mouth Divine Chocolate eggs made with fair-trade cacao from Ghana are just the thing. Altogether a beautiful, nature inspired Easter table that will charm our guests… and yours.
